Qualifications & Experience

Sporting Events:

Louisa is a fully Insured, Level 3 and Level 4 Qualified Sports Massage Therapist based in South East England. She has practically worked as a Sports Massage Therapist treating athletes at the Brighton MET Boxing Tournaments, and at the famous Brighton Marathon for 3 years running, alongside Studio 57 Physiotherapy Clinic, Mind Charity, and Sundial Physiotherapy. She worked as the lead Sports Massage Therapist for the 3-day SDW17 (South Downs Way) Ultra-Marathon Challenge and treating runners at the South Downs Sports Club in 2017. During this time she regularly attended RIPTIDE Pro-Wrestling Events alongside Physio Marc Slowey to treat the pro-athletes pre/post event. Louisa took on the role of lead Sports Massage Therapist at Airetiko Aerial Circus Training in the Aljappuran Mountains in Spain in 2018, treating circus artists, acrobatic performers and contortionists. In 2019 Louisa worked with XNRG Extreme Energy, providing Sports Massage for the runners taking part in the 3-day Ultra-Marathon "The Devil's Challenge" (97 miles) along the South Downs Way. After 2 years of disrupted events due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Louisa was happy to finally be back providing Sports Massage at the London to Brighton Cycling event earlier this year (2022).

Clinical Experience:

In addition to her extensive on-site sports event work, Louisa also has valuable hands-on experience in the clinic. In 2016 (whilst studying for her Level 3 Sports Massage qualification) she shadowed Bill Jeffries - Sports Massage Therapist of 23 years, and an experienced Squash Coach at The South Downs Sports Club. Louisa practically assisted him working on his clients at both the Sports Centre and at his home-clinic, gaining valuable one-to-one mentoring and tuition. Following his retirement, she was offered to take over his position as Sports Massage Therapist at the Sports Centre at The University of Sussex, where she practiced from 2016 – 2020 lockdown. Alongside this, Louisa gained further confidence and clinical experience working as a Sports Massage Therapist at Back 2 Balance Chiropractic Clinic in Hove in 2019.
